PURPOSES OF THE HUDSON RIVER VALLEY GREENWAY

  1. To improve access to the Hudson River for the communities along its shores, and
  2. To improve mobility and safety for cyclists and pedestrians so that bicycling and walking become feasible alternatives to motorized travel.

The Hudson River Valley Greenway trail in the Bronx will be a multiuser trail that will link the northern reaches of Manhattan with the Old Croton Aqueduct Trail in the City of Yonkers.
